This one was handfelted with soft white merino wool and the leaves done in three different tones of brown which have delicious names: custard, mustard and caramel!

The ceramic cup was made by me as well.

This "Jewelled Seed hand bag" was also hand felted with merino wool in different colors: yellow, green, blue. To create the sumptuous surface design, hand dyed and hand spun yarn (by mio) was used; as well as linen fibres and bamboo. The finnal touch, beads hand sewn around the bag creating pockets of sparkles!
It is linned with white, plain cotton fabric.
It has two handles which, as with the other handbags, are hand felted and machine sewn to create a bit of an irregular coil... more organic.

It's already in my dawanda shop where you can also see more pictures of the details of this Jewelled Seed Handbag.

The " Charcoal Grey seed Handbag", another bag from the new "Semillas- Seeds" line; was wet felted with the softest, lightest merino wool. It is lined with a black cotton fabric.

What most women that have seen these bags have told me is that they are precisely the right size for when you want a medium size handbag. I was really thinking on myself when I designed it... when I'm running around town with my kid in tow and I want to have as less things as possible hanging from my shoulder. But it is still a good size to fit wallet, glasses, keys, a little moleskine and you know... all those bits we always carry around :)

I think this one is particularly versatile for night and also day use. You know... easy to combine.

The "Charcoal Grey Seed Handbag" is listed in my dawanda shop now where you can see more pictures which will illustrate better what I' m trying to say with words!

I have a new line of handbags " Semillas" or " Seeds" coming out.

This one, " Natural", is the first one. Inspired by the seed pods of Lilys and other flowers that grow in my own garden.

Natural: This bag was handfelted using Russian, camel hair coloured, coarse wool for the base. Natural merino wool and merino handspun yarn were used for the seed/leaf designs on each of the 4 sides. All different. It is lined with off-white cotton canvas fabric and reinforced on each edge for extra sturdiness. The straps are made of the same materials.
I fit my cell phone, wallet, reading glasses, keys, coin pouch and little moleskine in it... with space to spare. You can see on the botton right corner pic how it looks when you hang it on your shoulder. That ussually gives a better idea of an item's size than plain measurements.

The "Semillas- Seed handbag. Natural" is listed in my Dawanda shop now. You can email me if you wish to purchase it without logging into any e-commerce platform or if you want to see more pictures. It is customizable, of course. You just have to contact me, following the contact button on the left hand menu!

Have I mentioned my mantra lately? : "Experimenting, that is how we learn"... well... guess what... that's is what I've been doing.
I'm not sure what precisely will become of this textured pieces but it was interesting to practice them, learn a bit more about them and the material. I have a couple more done but those will become cushions... as soon as I, first, find a torche...oh yeah... playing with (wool and ) fire now.

A new handbag!
This wool is fantastically structural. Thick, strong handmade felt in a dark brown shade. I have lined it with cotton just for a finish touch. It has inside a small pocket which coses with a wooden button (also made by me!). The leather straps where hand cut and sewn by me as well.
It's big and super handy!

A little out of season, but the truth is that this autumny wall hanging was made indeed in autumn. It is just now that I decided it is done and ready to see the world.
It is hand felted with 3 different types of wool: Brown Milchschaf wool (bottom), beige Fuchsschaf wool(middle) and off white merino wool (top).
Hand spun and hand dyed yarn was used for the contour of the tree.
Hand dyed silk was used for the bark which gives it a little bit of a shine. There is natural (undyed) silk on the bottom and the sky part and small little leaves in different colors have been hand embroidered to the side of the branches.

It's in my Dawanda shop now.

Here is my first attempt to felt a jacket...
I was not trained as a seamstress so when I found out that with handmade felt you could make garmets without sawing, I couldn't believe it! it still requires a certain degree of understanding of the wool...and practice... lots of practice.
I wanted a sort of Jackie O jacket: to the waist, 3/4 sleeves, simple, kinda trapezoid shape. I will add a button later (maybe one of those ceramic buttons I made some time ago).

A yurt is a typical portable handfelted tent from Central Asia. When my husband saw my sketches and the first layer of wool, he thought I was going to make a tent... it was rather big!

I'm happy with it. Naturally I know I have lots to improve... but this is a start. I have plans for more later!

Remember those little plates I posted before, the ones ready to go to the kiln? Where here they are. After being fired once, they got a thin coat of transparent glazing to protect them (makes them more usable) and back to the kiln.

A few new pieces, far from being finished. This is stage one.
Clockwise:

A big handfelted wrap. It's lovely soft merino wool with the swirls done in hand spun -by moi- yarn which is added to the designs whilst felting.
To its right, a scarf, also merino with bamboo strands. This is my first attempt to some shibori dyeing. Not completely succesful, but I still like the effect.
Bellow, a scarflette, long and thing. Hand felted with white merino and yarn and dyed later.
Red is quite difficult to photograph but also my favorite color so I tend to add it everywhere. This pictures do no justice to the brightness and depth of the colors.
Last picture is of my first attempts on wool spinning. This yarn has been done with a drop spindle... I'm starting small!

Another wall hanging. This one is called "little forest". It was hand felted with merino wool and tecel (a derivate of wood pulp). It's 56cm x 41cm. The trunks of the trees hang out of the piece itself, as you might notice.

Lately I have been working in large pieces of felt. This one here is a wall hanging depicting a little colorful neighborhood.
It's done entirely in soft merino wool with the wavy roofs and sky done in tencel which is a shiny fiber (derivate of wood pulp). When the light hits it, it twinkles... very pretty.
Casitas means "little houses" in my mother language, Spanish.

It has not been prepared yet for hanging. Without a wood strip on the back it means that it can be framed, transformed into a pillow, a table runner...and have free shipping!

It measures 45cm x 58cm
